WELCOME MESSAGE
Dear colleagues, dear friends,
It’s a great honour and privilege to invite you to the 12th Congress of the European Venous Forum (EVF) to be held in 2011 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conference will be organised in cooperation with Slovenian Society of Vascular Disease and Department of Vascular Disease, University Clinical Centre Ljubljana and will take place in the very heart of Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia.
The major aim of this meeting is to bring together clinicians and scientists working in the field of phlebology. It will provide an opportunity to present new findings in the field of vascular disease, to discuss controversies, to listen and to learn, and finally to create guidelines for management of patients with venous disease.
EVF 2011 will be one of the most outstanding vascular scientific meetings in Europe. Beside selected oral presentations, the didactic sessions with outstanding invited speakers will provide an excellent scientific programme dedicated to prevention and treatment of deep venous thrombosis, to management of thrombophlebitis and postthrombotic syndrome. Further, the efficacy and value of new drugs in management of venous disease will be presented, and the advantages in comparison to standard drugs will be discussed. Therefore, we believe that 12th EVF meeting will serve as an opportunity for presenting the best on-going in both clinical and basic phlebology and I am convinced that the scientific part of the congress will be at the high level.
We expect the attendance of outstanding experts and numerous young colleagues from all around the Europe and the world.
Dear friends, I would like to invite you to get to know with our country and it’s past and present. The Republic of Slovenia is a young independent country, embracing the Alps, the rolling countryside, leading to the Pannonia plain and barren Karst bordering the Adriatic see. Its capital Ljubljana finds its rescue unity in an architectural heritage spanning Renaissance, Baroque, Art Noveau, and Modern. You will feel relaxed and quite at home – Ljubljana is an old and it is new, it is always open to travellers and ideas, its peoples are hospitable, and will speak to you in many languages.
We sincerely hope that scientific satisfaction with the congress attendance will go hand in hand with the enjoyment with the social events.
Dear friends, therefore, we would like to invite you to spend with us some unforgettable days in Slovenia.
