1. EVF Research Grant (25000)

The EVF Grant Committee seek applications from candidates who wish to embark on pioneering research which will result in advancements in the field of venous disease.

The Grant Committee comprises of members of the Board of the EVF and are all leaders in the field of venous disease.

The completed proposal should be written in English and include the following:

  • Introduction including objectives, literature review and rationale
  • Hypothesis (100 words)
  • Methodology
  • Times scales for implementation
  • Rationale for Data Collection
  • Names of all collaborators and affiliations
  • Budget of research and analysis of expenditure and income of the grant.  These will be audited periodically by the grants committee
  • References
  • Ethical Approval (copies of approval will be required if grant is awarded)
  • The Principal Investigator’s overall assurance/confirmation regarding the responsibilities, conduct and scientific credibility of the proposed project.

To apply applicants must:

Be under 35
Be a European Resident
Provide a CV showing relevant publications in peer reviewed journals
Provide a letter of support from Head of Department

2. EVF Travelling Fellowship

The EVF is pleased to announce a Research Travelling Fellowship to the value of (€5000) for a trainee to travel to a centre/s to learn about either clinical or research skills.
 
The grant is open to all trainees.  To apply, the candidate needs to supply:

  1. Up to a 1000 word application outlining the trip, costs and aim of the potential benefit of their subsequent professional development.
  2. Curriculum Vitae.
  3. Letter from their Head of Department and/or a senior colleague/specialist, confirming that they have read and checked the application and fully support it.
  4. Letter accepting the candidate in the centre/centres to be visited.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 2 APRIL 2012

The winner will be expected to attend the 2012 meeting of the European Venous Forum and present their work in a 10 minute presentation.
